Dr. Safiah Rashid

Dr. Safiah Rashid, holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lakehead University, Ontario, Canada. She graduated in Master of Business Administration from Universiti Tun Abdul Razak in 2007. In 2017, she was awarded a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) by Universiti Utara Malaysia. She started her career in 1994 when she joined Institut Teknologi Tun Abdul Razak as a lecturer. Subsequently, she moved to Universiti Tun Abdul Razak and later UNITAR International University.

Dr. Safiah currently with a Senior Lecturer position has vast experience in lecturing having taught various Economics and Management subjects at Diploma, Bachelor, Master and PhD level. She has gained tremendous and valuable experience lecturing both local and international students. Furthermore, she also taught Government personnel of various rankings particularly from the Armed Forces and Royal Malaysia Police.

She is also responsible in supervising thesis for both Master and PhD students. She is currently supervising seven (7) PhD candidates. As for the Master thesis, thus far, thirty-seven (37) local students and two (2) international students have since graduated under her supervision. She is also appointed as external examiner for PhD proposal defence. In addition to lecturing, she has held various administrative positions such as Head of Department (Management), Acting Head of Unit Curriculum and Quality Development Department, Coordinator Postgraduate Programmes, Coordinator Diploma Programmes, Coordinator Industrial Training and International Students, Coordinator Pre-Matriculation Program, and Coordinator School of General Studies throughout her employment tenure.

Dr. Safiah has been an active member for various committees. She also gained a recognition as a Certified Trainer for HRDF Malaysia and a member of Malaysia Economic Association (MEA) as well as Case Writer’s Association of Malaysia (CWAM). In summary, Dr. Safiah has to date accumulated 27 years of working experience in lecturing as well as in the administrative area related to academic.
