Diploma Programmes

Diploma programmes are designed for candidates who want to work in vocational industries such as fashion design. There are also diploma courses that cover the academic fields offered at a bachelor’s degree level, including accounting, business administration and psychology. Typically, a diploma programme is equivalent to the first year of a bachelor’s degree at a university in Malaysia.

The programme is a great choice for SPM school leavers and working professionals who want more flexible entry requirements, course duration and filling the knowledge gap at work.

UNITAR International University has a range of diploma programmes in conventional and online modes to make higher education accessible and convenient. Apart from that, there are also other great reasons for choosing to study diploma at UNITAR:

Real-World Projects with Industry Partners

At UNITAR, we believe that learning should go beyond the classroom setting. In a real-world project, our students will work alongside people with positions in the industry. A real-world project is an opportunity to stand out and shorten the process of getting situated in the industry.

To keep up to date with today’s competitive job market, we collaborate with exciting industry partners to give our diploma students exposure. We have previously collaborated with Youth Care Malaysia, H-Live Astro, The Star Media Group, Sime Darby Property, Microsoft and myBurgerlab.

Additional Certifications

Graduating from a diploma programme is a good start to either advancing to a bachelor’s degree programme or applying for an entry-level job in Malaysia. UNITAR students, on the other hand, have the advantage of obtaining additional certifications where students can earn up to 10 digital badges or certifications based on the courses embedded with Microsoft Content (Diploma in Information Technology), Microsoft Excel and SQL Accounting certifications (Diploma In Accounting). Through these additional certifications, they can significantly enhance our diploma students’ resumes after graduation as well as equip them with impressive digital skill sets.

Internship Placement at Leading Companies

Work experience should not be excluded from university life, which is why we prioritise quality internship placements for our students to gain preliminary work experience as well as industry exposure before graduation. Providing internship opportunities allows students to apply what they’ve been taught in class at various leading companies, including KPMG, SQL and DHL.

UNITAR Is an Accredited APEL Assessment Centre

What this means is that working professionals can enrol for our conventional and online diploma courses via APEL using their work experience, with a further opportunity to reduce their study duration and costs.
