A coursework-based master’s degree in Malaysia typically takes 1 to 2 years of full-time study, or 2 to 3 years part-time. Research-based programmes may take longer depending on thesis progress. At UNITAR, most master’s programmes are designed for working professionals and structured to be completed within 18 months to 2 years.

Applicants generally require a bachelor’s degree (Honours) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, or a pass degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience. Some programmes accept APEL entry for experienced professionals without a formal bachelor’s qualification. International students must also meet English language requirements (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent).

Yes. UNITAR offers fully online (ODL) master’s degree programmes including the MBA, Master of Education, Master of Information Technology, and Master of Psychology. Online students attend virtual classes and access the same MQA-accredited curriculum as on-campus students, with the flexibility to study around work commitments.

Yes. UNITAR’s master’s programmes are eligible for HRDF (Human Resources Development Fund) claims, allowing your employer to fund all or part of your postgraduate tuition fees. Working professionals may also apply through the APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning) pathway, which assesses work experience and competencies in lieu of formal qualifications.
