UNITAR COLLABORATES WITH FEDS TO ENHANCE EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

Petaling Jaya – UNITAR International University (“UNITAR”) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Finnish Educations Solutions Sdn Bhd (FEDS) to offer and deliver innovative Finnish education experiences to UNITAR students.

The MoA was signed by Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Ir. Dr. Sahol Hamid Bin Abu Bakar, Vice-Chancellor of UNITAR International University, and Petri Karjalainen, Founder of Finnish Education Solutions Sdn. Bhd. (FEDS), and was witnessed by His Excellency Sami Rafael Leino, Ambassador of Finland to Malaysia.

FEDS offers a selection of the best award-winning digital learning tool from Finland which emphasise 21st century skills. Star Lessons, a Finnish online programme for teachers, are modules designed for students to learn innovative strategies for modern pedagogy, with a strong emphasis on self-reflection.

A pilot programme was rolled out on 29th September 2021 to 30 UNITAR students, with an expected completion date of 1st December 2021. Future Star Lessons modules will be offered as value-added Micro-Credential courses to enhance UNITAR’s Bachelor of Education degree programme.
