The Bachelor of Business Management (Honors) enhances students’ critical and analytical thinking abilities in relation to business management while giving them a comprehensive understanding of business management principles and practices. It also equips practitioners in the field with the knowledge and skills they need to address management issues.

This programme would also prepare them to lead effectively, innovatively, and ethically while leveraging lifelong learning and contributing to the development of the industry. It also intends to train them in the use of a systematic approach to industry development.

Course information

Academic Requirements

  1. A pass in STPM with at least Grade C (GP 2.0) in any TWO subjects*; OR
  2. A pass in STAM with at least Grade Jayyid*; OR
  3. Matriculation or Foundation with at least CGPA of 2.00; OR
  4. A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) with at least CGPA of 2.00; OR
  5. An Advanced Diploma (Level 5, MQF) with at least CGPA of 2.00; OR
  6. A Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) – subjected to HEP Senate / Academic Board’s approval*; OR
  7. A Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) – subjected to HEP Senate / Academic Board’s approval*.
    Note for (6) & (7): The HEPs are to conduct screening and provide necessary guidance specific to the discipline of the programme.
  8. Other equivalent qualification recognized by the Malaysian Government.

Additional Requirement:

a) A pass in Mathematics and English at SPM level or equivalent qualifications (Refer to the Notes below this table).

a) A pass in Mathematics and English at SPM level or equivalent qualifications.
i) (English subject requirement does not apply to international students since they must meet certain scores of international English examinations and may receive exemptions.)

b) Can be waived if higher qualifications contain Mathematics and English with an equivalent/higher achievement.

c) Malaysian students using English as the medium of instruction in their previous study OR with at least Band 2 in MUET (or equivalent) can be exempted from the English requirement.

d) Students without a pass in Mathematics and/or English at SPM level or equivalent can still be admitted but must attend special enhancement course(s) (remedial, SPM-equivalent). These must be passed as a prerequisite to related core courses taught in English.

Rigorous Assessment (if applicable)

May include:

a) Demonstration of strong business experience with significant managerial responsibilities.

b) Evidence of achievements in professional life (e.g., consistent performance, career progression, organisational impact).

c) Professional skills developed (e.g., teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, negotiation, analytical skills).

d) Contribution potential to class and institution (e.g., sharing experiences, diverse perspectives). (Lancaster University, 2021)
i) Experience may be cumulative, including before acquiring the required qualification, but must be relevant to the level of study.
ii) Pre-requisite courses must equip students with business knowledge (managing people, finance, customers, environments, strategic planning) at one level lower than the programme.

English Language Requirement (International Students Only)

a) International students are required to achieve a minimum Band 4 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) OR its equivalent to CEFR (Low B2).
