The Diploma in Teaching of English as a Second Language equips aspiring educators with the knowledge, skills and practical experience to teach English effectively in diverse settings.
The programme covers English language proficiency, linguistics, language acquisition theories, curriculum development, assessment, communicative pedagogy, differentiated and inclusive teaching approaches, digital tools and artificial intelligence. English Language Proficiency

Course information

  1. Possess Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or its equivalent with a minimum of three (3) credits in any subjects; OR
  2. Pass Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum Grade C (GP 2.00) in any subject; OR
  3. Pass Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul; OR
  4. Hold a Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR
  5. Pass Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 in a relevant field, subject to specific screening and guidance by the higher education provider; OR
  6. Possess other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government as equivalent to the requirements above.

English Requirements (International Students)

  • International students must achieve MUET or another English competency test equivalent to CEFR Low B1.
