The Master of Education (Instructional Technology) programmes is designed to provide graduates with advanced knowledge in Instructional Technology in education, with clear directions and pathways to acquire, generate, enhance, hone knowledge and skills, whilst making cross-linkages with other knowledge disciplines such as the humanities, the social sciences and the physical sciences. The programme is designed to meet the current educators’ competency demands, professional standards and needs within government and private institutions or agencies. Our programme is built on a well-established and comprehensive model of instructional technology set up and structured around the core areas identified as the essential competency areas.

The programme allows you to evaluate alternative policies and practices, understand theories and models of evaluation and develop research skills related to the use of key information technologies and academic writing.

Course information

Academic Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Level 6, MQF) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or its equivalent, as accepted by the UNITAR Senate; OR
  2. A Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, subject to a rigorous internal assessment; OR
  3. A Bachelor’s Degree (non-related field) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, subject to the completion of prerequisite courses; OR
  4. A Bachelor’s Degree (non-related field) with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, subject to a rigorous internal assessment AND the completion of prerequisite courses; OR
  5. Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian government as equivalent to the above requirements.

APEL.A (Level 7, MQF) Admission

Applicants may also apply through the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL.A) pathway, provided they meet the following:

a) A Malaysian citizen; AND
b) At least 30 years of age in the year of application; AND
c) Possess at least STPM / Recognised Diploma / A-Levels / equivalent qualifications; AND
d) Have relevant work experience / prior experiential learning; AND
e) Pass the APEL Assessment.

English Language Requirements (International Students)

a) Applicants must achieve MUET or any English competency test equivalent to a Low B1 in the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
