Course information

Academic Requirements

  1. Pass STPM with a minimum Grade C (GPA 2.00) in two (2) subjects; OR
  2. Pass in STAM with a minimum Grade of Jayyid in any two (2) subjects; OR
  3. Pass in Matriculation or Foundation studies with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR
  4. Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in Non-Computing with a minimum CGPA of 2.75. Candidates with a CGPA below 2.75 but more than 2.50 can be admitted subject to a thorough rigorous assessment;
    AND a credit in:
    a) Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent; OR
    b) Candidates with a pass in Mathematics at SPM level need to take and pass the reinforcement Mathematics subject that is equivalent to the SPM level. The reinforcement Mathematics subject must be offered in the first semester or before enrolment with unconditional offer.
  5. Diploma in Computing fields (Level 4, MQF) or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50. Candidates with a CGPA below 2.50 but more than 2.00 may be admitted subject to a thorough rigorous assessment; OR
  6. Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) in Computing fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 subjected to HEP Senate / Academic Board’s approval and MUST attend bridging courses; OR
  7. Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) in Computing fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 subjected to HEP Senate / Academic Board’s approval and MUST attend bridging courses; OR
  8. Other relevant and equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government. (Candidates can be admitted if their admission qualification contains Mathematics subject(s) equivalent to Mathematics at the SPM level. If it is not equivalent, the reinforcement Mathematics subject equivalent to the SPM level must be offered in the first semester or before enrolment with unconditional offer).
  9. Entry requirements for admission into the Bachelor’s program (Level 6, MQF) through APEL A. Applicants must be / have:
    a) A Malaysian citizen; and
    b) The candidate should be more than 21 years of age in the year of application;
    c) Relevant work experience / prior experiential learning; and
    d) Pass the APEL Assessment.

English Requirement (International students only)

  • a) Achieve a minimum of Band 3.5 in MUET or equivalent to CEFR (High B1).

The Programme Learning Outcomes (PLO) of this programme is to prepare graduates who are able to:

  1. Policies and practices to monitor and prevent unauthorised access, misuse, modification and denial of service of a computer network and resources.
  2. Programming languages including markup languages and multimedia packages to create applications for the web.
  3. Methods, processes, algorithms and statistical models that computer systems run to perform tasks without explicit instructions by mimicking human intelligence.
  4. Giant network of connected devices including wireless sensors, software, actuators and computer devices to improve our work and life.
  5. To record transactions efficiently in a verifiable and permanent way in regard to potential applications in multiple industries such as the financial industry, governments, identity management and healthcare.
