The Student Get Student programme is eligible for UNITAR Current Students to participate (Main Campus, Colleges, Regional Centres).
- UNITAR Staff and Education Recruitment Agents are not eligible for this programme.
- Eligible for both Malaysian and International students.
- SGS applicants (Referrers) are required to fill up the Student Get Student Form to participate in this highly rewarding programme. Personal details collected from referrers will be used for payment processing when new students (referees) have successfully enrolled and paid the fees as determined, to any UNITAR International University or UNITAR Regional Centre.
-
The Student Get Student Programme is valid and applicable to referrers and referees who meet the following criteria:
- The referee must be a UNITAR Current Student (Main Campus, Colleges or Regional Centres).
- This programme is not applicable to UNITAR Staff across Malaysia, Human Resource Personnel within UNITAR or Education Recruitment Agents.
- Those who refer a family member to UNITAR may choose either the Student Referral Programme or the Family Loyalty Award. They are only entitled to one of these two options.
-
The referee must not have:
- An existing lead record in the UNITAR CRM System; or
- Any engagement, including e-counselling or a visit, with a UNITAR Education Counsellor within the past 12 months.
-
As an exception to Section 4(d), a student who has previously visited UNITAR and has a record in the UNITAR system may be eligible under the ârefereeâ status if:
- The student enrolled at another institution but subsequently returned to enrol at UNITAR because of their friendâs referral.
- Example: Student A visited and was counselled by UNITAR. However, Student A enrolled at another institution for the January intake. Two weeks later, Student A returned to UNITAR to enrol due to a friendâs referral.
- Proof of enrolment at the other institution will be required, such as a payment receipt or offer letter.
- The referee must have been notified and consented to having their details, personal data and information shared with UNITAR for this programme.
- Each individual referee can only be referred to UNITAR once. If a referee is referred more than once, only the first person to refer them will be eligible for the referral reward under this programme.
- The referrer will only be eligible to receive the referral reward if the referee successfully enrols with UNITAR International University, UNITAR Colleges or UNITAR Regional Centres.
-
The Student Get Student Programme referral reward amount per successful enrolment is as follows:
- UNITAR conventional programmes: RM500âRM1,000 per enrolment.
- UNITAR online programmes: RM300âRM700 per enrolment.
- All referral reward payments payable to the referrer upon confirmation of successful enrolment shall be settled by UNITAR within thirty (30) working days from the last official date of the First Semester, provided that the referred student remains in the programme and has no outstanding payments to UNITAR for the First Semester, as verified by the Student Finance Department.
-
The referrer must submit the following documents:
- SGS Application Form.
- A photocopy of the ICs of the referrer and applicant.
- Proof of referring the potential student to UNITAR.

- The referrer shall not have any authority whatsoever, whether express or otherwise, to offer a place to any potential student or suggest that the University will offer a place to the student. For the avoidance of doubt, the referrer shall have no authority whatsoever to enter into any agreement or make any promise that may bind the University.
- The University is under no obligation to make an offer to any new student referred by a referrer and reserves the right to reject any or all applications submitted.
- The University reserves the right to remove or amend the SGS campaign in the future without prior notice.
- UNITAR International University,, UNITAR Colleges and UNITAR Regional Centres alumni and staff are not considered potential new students. They shall not be recruited by any SGS applicant under any circumstances.
-
UNITAR reserves the right to suspend payment or participation with immediate effect if:
- The referrer is found to have committed any form of misrepresentation when submitting a new student application.
- There is an element of fraud, wrongdoing or false information provided by the referrer or new student.
- The referrer is found to be soliciting prospective students during exhibitions or events participated in or undertaken by the University.
- The University reserves the right to withhold payment if the newly registered student withdraws from the programme at any time during the First Semester.
- The University reserves the right to contact the newly registered student directly to confirm the details submitted in the Application Form.
-
Referring to Item 8, if further investigation determines that the late submission was caused by the Education Counsellor responsible for the referred student, the University reserves the right to hold the Education Counsellor accountable for providing the appropriate compensation if:
- The SGS form and required documents were not submitted by the Education Counsellor; and
- The submission deadline exceeded the internal grace period of six (6) months. For example, if a student was referred for the January 2024 intake, the grace period would end in July 2024.
