UNITAR International University has achieved another significant milestone in its commitment to delivering industry-relevant education, with its Diploma in Logistics Management (DILM) receiving full accreditation from The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Malaysia (CILT Malaysia) for the period 2025 to 2030. The accreditation follows a comprehensive review by the CILT Malaysia Board of Education and Accreditation, which confirmed that UNITAR had successfully fulfilled all stipulated requirements and conditions for full accreditation of the programme.

Professor ChLT Ts. Dr. Muhammad Zaly Shah FCILT, President of CILT Malaysia and Advisor to the Board of Education and Accreditation, commended the achievement, noting that the accreditation reflects UNITAR’s commitment to maintaining high standards in logistics and transport education.

“This accreditation is not merely a recognition of quality. It is an affirmation of UNITAR’s commitment to nurturing future-ready logistics professionals through industry-aligned curricula, continuous improvement, and a strong focus on graduate employability,” he said.

The recognition comes at a time when the logistics and supply chain industry is undergoing unprecedented transformation driven by digitalisation, automation, artificial intelligence, e-commerce expansion, and increasingly complex global trade networks. As industries evolve, employers are seeking graduates who possess not only technical expertise but also adaptability, critical thinking skills, and the ability to navigate rapidly changing business environments.

Welcoming the accreditation, Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Ir. Dr. Sahol Hamid Abu Bakar, Vice-Chancellor of UNITAR International University, said the recognition validates the university’s long-standing commitment to industry-responsive education.

“We view this accreditation as a validation of our industry-centric approach to education. Beyond meeting academic standards, our goal is to ensure that every UNITAR graduate possesses the competencies, professional mindset, and practical exposure needed to succeed in a rapidly changing workplace and contribute meaningfully to industry and society.”

As Malaysia continues to strengthen its position as a regional logistics and distribution hub, demand for qualified logistics and supply chain professionals is expected to rise significantly. UNITAR’s Diploma in Logistics Management is designed to equip students

with strong foundations in supply chain management, transportation, warehousing, procurement, distribution, and logistics operations, enabling them to contribute effectively from the outset of their careers.

The accreditation further reinforces UNITAR’s emphasis on employability by design and meaningful industry collaboration. Through continuous engagement with professional bodies, employers, and industry practitioners, the university ensures its programmes remain relevant, future-focused, and aligned with evolving workforce expectations.

Globally recognised as a leading professional body for the logistics, transport, and supply chain profession, CILT accreditation serves as an important benchmark of quality and relevance. Accreditation by CILT Malaysia assures that UNITAR’s Diploma in Logistics Management meets industry-recognised standards while supporting the development of competent, adaptable, and future-ready talent.

As UNITAR celebrates 35 years of impact in talent development, this latest achievement further strengthens the university’s position as an industry-facing institution committed to producing graduates who are ready to meet the challenges and opportunities of an increasingly dynamic global economy.
