UUM and UNITAR Sign Strategic MoU to Drive Academic Innovation and Lifelong Learning

Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and UNITAR signs a MOU have entered into a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster academic collaboration and promote lifelong learning across Malaysia and beyond.
 
The MoU, signed at UUM’s campus in Sintok, Kedah, outlines a comprehensive framework for cooperation in key areas, including student mobilitystaff exchangeappointment of visiting scholarsjoint research and publications, and collaborative postgraduate supervision. Both institutions aim to create impactful initiatives that enhance academic excellence, graduate employability, and knowledge sharing.

Prof. Dr. Ahmad Martadha Mohamed, Acting Vice-Chancellor of UUM, emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership:

This collaboration reflects our shared vision to empower learners and foster innovation through academic partnerships. By combining UUM’s research strengths with UNITAR’s flexible learning platforms, we are creating opportunities that transcend traditional boundaries and prepare graduates for the challenges of a globalized economy. Our goal is to produce graduates who are not only academically competent but also industry-ready and globally competitive.

The agreement will remain in effect for three years, with the possibility of extension by mutual consent. Both parties have committed to upholding ethical business practices and compliance with relevant laws, including the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act and the Personal Data Protection Act.
