The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Administration programme is designed to prepare candidates to acquire necessary knowledge and skills to function at the highest academic and professional levels. Specifically, the objectives of this programme are to produce graduates who have strong background in Business Administration as academic scholars or researchers. This programme aims to produce graduates with strong characters and professional skills in the aspect of interpersonal relations who are able to apply scientific methods in identifying problems, offering appropriate solutions, work in teams and write reports. It also equips graduates with important work-related skills such as leadership and team building skills, decision-making, critical and analytical thinking skills as well as project management skills.

Course information

Academic Requirements:

i. A Master’s Degree in Business or other related discipline; OR
ii. A Master’s Degree in non-related fields with relevant working experience; OR
iii. A Master’s Degree in non-related fields without relevant working experience, subject to passing prerequisite courses; OR
iv. Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Government of Malaysia; AND
v. Written proposal in 500 words (English).


Other Considerations:
Candidates with excellent Bachelor’s Degree based on the following conditions:
• Obtained first class Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification; OR
• Obtained CGPA of at least 3.67 or equivalent; AND
• Written proposal in 500 words (English).

 

English Requirements

International Students
i. 6.5 for IELTS OR
ii. 600 for TOEFL OR its equivalent.

Local Students
i. Credit in SPM English OR
ii. Pass an internal oral examination, with a minimum grade of C.
